ABOUT MELISSA

I graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in March 2008, with over 1200 hours of supervised classroom and practical training including but not limited to the Mapleton Rehabilitation Center in Boulder; the Boulder College of Massage Therapy Clinic; and post-event sports massage for athletes.
I am trained in several modalities of massage and bodywork, including Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Therapeutic, and Normalization of Soft Tissue techniques. In December 2008, I completed an Associate's Degree in Occupational Studies in Medical Massage, and I became a certified Orthopedic and Sports Massage therapist in May 2009. I am currently a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
In 2009, I opened Kailo Massage Therapy to provide high-quality, affordable massage in the north Denver Metro area. Kailo (kye-LOH) is an ancient word meaning, "to be healthy, whole, and uninjured," and that is my mission: to help you achieve your health goals by reducing pain, increasing your range of motion and flexibility, and decreasing the amount of stress in your body.
I do this by:
- Listening to and meeting your needs and goals
- Providing you with information about posture, anatomy, and physiology
- Working with your other healthcare professionals to create the best care plan possible
I've seen the powerful role that massage therapy can play in promoting health. Health is not only the absence of pain and dysfunction; with massage therapy, your health becomes a source of never-ending joy. It is my pleasure to assist you on your journey to better health!
